Plastic Machine World (“we”, “us”, “the Platform”) is operated by Saavia Impex Private Limited. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and — because it's central to how the Platform works — exactly how we protect buyer and seller identities before a connection is approved.
1. The Core Privacy Commitment
Plastic Machine World exists to let buyers and sellers of plastic processing machinery transact without exposing their contact details to strangers. Concretely:
- Buyers never see a seller's name, company, email, phone number, GST number, or address on a listing.
- Sellers never see a buyer's identity or contact details from a wishlist save or a browse session.
- When a buyer submits a Request Contact, that request (a "Lead") is queued for manual review. Contact information is exchanged between the two parties only after a Plastic Machine World administrator approves the Lead.
This is enforced at the system level, not just by policy — our API never returns counterparty contact fields to the other party until that approval happens.
2. Information We Collect
Account information
Full name, email address, phone number, password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text), and role (Buyer, Seller, or Admin).
Seller KYC information
Company name, GST number, PAN number, business address, city, state, and (optionally) website — required to list machinery and to be marked as a verified seller.
Buyer business information (optional)
Company name, GST number, and address, for buyers purchasing on behalf of a business.
Listing content
Machine details, specifications, pricing, and photos/videos uploaded by sellers.
Usage data
Pages viewed, machines viewed, searches performed, device/browser information, and IP address — used for security, fraud prevention, and improving search relevance.
3. How We Use Information
- To operate core features: listings, search, wishlists, Lead requests, and admin approval workflows.
- To verify seller identity (KYC) before granting a "Verified Seller" status.
- To detect and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse of the Lead system.
- To send transactional emails (verification, password reset, Lead status updates, approved contact details).
- To generate aggregate, anonymized platform statistics (e.g. homepage "Machines Listed" counters).
We do not sell personal data to third parties, and we do not use buyer/seller contact details for advertising.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We rely on a small number of infrastructure providers to operate the Platform:
- Cloud storage (AWS S3 or Cloudflare R2) — stores listing photos/videos.
- Database hosting (e.g. Neon PostgreSQL) — stores account and listing data.
- Email delivery (SMTP provider) — sends verification, reset, and notification emails.
Each provider only receives the minimum data required to perform its function, under standard data-processing terms.
5. Data Retention
We retain account and listing data for as long as an account remains active, plus a reasonable period afterward for legal, tax, and dispute-resolution purposes. Rejected or deleted listings, and their images, are retained in an inactive state for audit purposes rather than being immediately purged.
